Tip of the Day: More about Baking Soda

Tag: 1forthebettys @ 4:26 pm

I love Baking Soda so much, it is like my right hand man in the kitchen.  SO! If you have a dirty dish, crusted bottom of the pot.. perhaps even a little foul smelling fear not!  When washing your dishes add a little baking soda to the water before you put your dish soap in. Let your dishes soak for a minute then start washing. If this fails to clean the bottom of those pots or you notice, Gosh- there’s a ring in that pot that just won’t go away! Fill that pot up with water (yes up to the ring) , add 3 Tbsp of Baking Soda and throw it on the oven. Put your burner at medium to high heat and give it about 2 minutes. Keep a good eye on it as Baking Soda loves to bubble rather quickly.  When boiled for a moment pour the water out and the scrubbing is basically effortless. Voila! Ohh and the smell.. GONE!

Fresh and clean like the day it was made.  Not to mention this saves your hands and your manicure ;)

Hope this helps your kitchen run a little smoother – it sure has mine!
